Boat Detailing Services

Boat Detailing Services

All boats deserve exceptional care. At The Butler Did It Marine Services, our detailing goes beyond appearance—delivering long-lasting protection and meticulous results using marine-specific products and proven techniques.

We assess each boat individually and recommend the services that make the most sense—no one-size-fits-all packages, just honest professional care.

Wash & Wax

Our Wash & Wax service is our most basic detailing option, designed to quickly restore shine and provide short-term protection. It enhances appearance and helps mask light oxidation, leaving your boat clean, glossy, and ready to enjoy.

While this service delivers immediate results, wax does not offer the durability or longevity of ceramic protection. It’s a solid choice for well-maintained boats or owners looking for simple, affordable upkeep.

Compounding & Polish

Compounding is designed to correct the surface rather than simply enhance it. This service removes oxidation, fading, and surface defects to restore depth, color, and gloss to your gelcoat.

We offer multiple levels of compounding based on the condition of your boat, ranging from light compound and polish to heavy correction and wet sanding when required. In many cases, a lighter compound also serves as a ceramic prep polish, creating the ideal foundation for long-term protection.

Ceramic Coating

Ceramic coating offers longer-lasting protection and improved durability compared to traditional wax. Our most commonly applied option is a hybrid polymer ceramic coating, which enhances gloss, improves UV resistance, and provides a noticeable increase in protection without the cost or complexity of a full ceramic system.

For owners seeking the highest level of durability, we also offer a true ceramic coating process. This option involves extensive surface preparation, higher material cost, and significantly longer longevity. While true ceramic offers maximum performance, hybrid polymer ceramic remains a substantial upgrade over wax and is often the best balance of protection, longevity, and value.

Scheduled Wash Programs

Our scheduled wash programs are designed to keep your boat consistently clean while preserving the protection already in place. We offer flexible scheduling options including weekly, bi-weekly, every three weeks, or monthly washes, tailored to your usage and exposure.

All scheduled washes are performed using a pH neutral SiO₂-infused marine soap that will not strip existing wax or ceramic coatings. Instead, it helps maintain and enhance the protection and gloss already on your boat. This service takes the work off your plate, ensuring your boat is clean, presentable, and ready to enjoy every time you arrive.

Interior Cleaning

Our interior cleaning services are designed for boats that need more than a light touch-up. We provide restorative deep interior cleaning to address built-up grime, staining, odors, and hard-to-reach areas throughout the cabin.

This service focuses on reviving tired interiors and restoring a clean, well-kept appearance, making it ideal for seasonal refreshes, pre-sale preparation, or boats that have seen heavy use.

Canvas & Isinglass Cleaning

Proper care of canvas and isinglass is essential to maintaining both appearance and longevity. Our cleaning process is designed to safely remove dirt, grime, and environmental buildup without damaging materials.

We use marine-specific products and techniques to improve clarity, restore a clean appearance, and help extend the life of canvas and clear vinyl. Optional canvas waterproofing is available to improve water resistance and help protect against future wear.

Custom Detailing Packages

No two boats are the same, and neither are their detailing needs. Our custom detailing packages are built around your boat’s condition, usage, and goals rather than a preset checklist.

We evaluate your vessel and recommend a combination of services that make the most sense—whether that’s surface correction, long-term protection, or ongoing maintenance. The result is a tailored detailing plan designed to deliver consistent, lasting results.

Boat Detailing – Frequently Asked Questions

Every boat is different. We start by evaluating your boat’s condition, usage, and exposure, then recommend the services that make the most sense—whether that’s basic upkeep, surface correction, or long-term protection.

Wash & Wax enhances shine and helps mask light oxidation, but it does not remove surface damage. Compounding corrects the gelcoat by removing oxidation, fading, and defects to restore the finish before protection is applied.

Wash & Wax can temporarily cover light oxidation and improve appearance, but it does not remove oxidation. Boats with noticeable fading or chalking typically require compounding for lasting results.

Yes. We offer multiple levels of compounding based on your boat’s condition, ranging from light compound and polish to heavier correction and wet sanding when necessary. Each boat is evaluated individually to determine the appropriate approach.

In many cases, yes. Proper surface correction ensures ceramic coatings bond correctly and perform as intended. Light compounding or polish often serves as the prep step before ceramic application.

Most boats receive a hybrid polymer ceramic coating, which provides significantly better durability and protection than wax at a more practical cost. We also offer a true ceramic coating option for owners seeking maximum longevity.

Longevity depends on the product used, preparation, and maintenance. Hybrid polymer ceramic coatings last significantly longer than wax, while true ceramic coatings offer the longest lifespan when properly cared for.

Ceramic coatings reduce maintenance but do not eliminate it. Regular washing helps maintain appearance and extend the life of the coating.

No. We use a pH neutral SiO₂-infused marine soap that is safe for wax and ceramic coatings. It helps maintain and enhance existing protection rather than remove it.

We offer flexible scheduling including weekly, bi-weekly, every three weeks, or monthly washes. Frequency is based on how the boat is used and stored.

Yes. Scheduled washes take the work off your plate so your boat is clean, presentable, and ready to enjoy when you arrive.

Deep interior cleaning is ideal for seasonal refreshes, pre-sale preparation, or boats that have seen heavy use or long periods without cleaning.

We can often improve clarity through professional cleaning, but results depend on the age and condition of the material. Severely damaged or yellowed isinglass may have limitations.

Yes. Optional canvas waterproofing is available to improve water resistance and help extend the life of canvas.
